The Centre for Maritime Economy Research of the University of Gdańsk (CMER) is a university-wide organisational unit of the University of Gdańsk, conducting interfaculty and interdisciplinary research, development, implementation, and educational activities based on a holistic approach to maritime economy studies.

The primary objective of the Centre is to build maritime awareness by disseminating knowledge about the maritime economy, promoting maritime education, and facilitating the exchange of scientific knowledge and experience among researchers of socio-economic and legal phenomena, as well as strengthening cooperation between representatives of all academic disciplines.

The Centre pursues its objectives in particular through advisory, information, service, training, outreach, and promotional activities, including cooperation with the socio-economic environment.
